What is Aortic Stenosis?
Aortic Stenosis is when the Aortic Valve – or the area immediately around it – narrows due to the build up of cholesterol-containing plaque. The symptoms are very similar to those experienced by people with heart disease and the diagnosis will usually have been made with echocardiography (similar to an ultrasound scan) carried out by a cardiologist.
