Generally the presence of symptoms attributable to the aortic valve is an indication for valve replacement.
However, in mild cases of aortic stenosis, the valve isn’t sufficiently narrowed to require surgery. In this case, you will be put on a surveillance programme where the condition will be closely monitored.
Should the condition worsen, valve replacement surgery – either open heart valve replacement or TAVI – will be recommended.

VALVE REPLACEMENT SURGERY
VALVE REPLACEMENT SURGERY
The procedure to replace the valve is typically open heart surgery.
NON-INVASIVE VALVE REPLACEMENT (TAVI)
NON-INVASIVE VALVE REPLACEMENT (TAVI)
TAVI (or TAVR) is a minimally invasive procedure of placing an artificial valve into your heart.
