Professor Rajesh Kharbanda, Consultant Cardiologist in Oxford, graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 1991, and has trained and worked in the specialty of cardiology in London, Cambridge, Toronto (Canada).
He is a general cardiologist with over 20 years of experience treating patients with a wide range of heart conditions including angina, valve disease, heart failure and irregular heart rhythm. His practice incorporates investigation of chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts and breathlessness. He has special expertise in the treatment of coronary artery disease by coronary angioplasty and stenting including complex angioplasty techniques, and is a part of the Oxford team that performs minimally invasive aortic valve treatment.
He places importance on the prevention and early detection of coronary disease through the assessment of cardiac risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
